
Just to follow up about what went down at the January 10, 2008 meeting about the future of Hangar One at Moffett Federal Airfield -- shown above as it looked in 1933 -- the folks over at the Moffett Users weblog have posted their own version of the meeting minutes to summarize what happened.
Executive Summary: The Navy wants more time to do its Engineering Evaluation/Cost Analysis, but it also seems more receptive to local concerns that the hangar's historic value means it should be preserved. Encouraging? Yes. Resolved? No. The future of this historic monument to Silicon Valley's spirit of innovation remains uncertain. Stay tuned!

AOPA is reporting that Hangar 1 was bought by a hotelier and the facade will be moved to the hotel.
