Our plane was delayed. Two hours late. So Telstar Logistics drifted away from the anxious crowd at our scheduled departure gate at San Francisco International to find a more relaxed place to pass the time. We found it not far away, popped open the laptop -- free WiFi at SFO! Nice! -- and began doing some work.
And then, the music started. It was the sound of a clarinet, coming from a lounge seat a few rows away. She started by practicing some scales, and then some songs, and it was lovely.
Turns out, she was another passenger on our delayed flight. She said she was just a beginner on the clarinet, but it didn't matter, because her sound was good and it brought a cozy warmth to the airport concourse. Before long, we forgot we had a flight to catch.
Quite frankly, we could have spent the entire day there; just looking out the windows, watching the planes, and taking in the sound her music...
